so without further adieu, here is our fashion review on some of the best looking dresses! (Click on each photo to see in larger size)
She is the winner of this year’s Best Actress! And she is so well deserving of winning for her amazing performance in “Black Swan”. It’s such a “Double Happiness” for her this year, being pregnant with her 1st child & winning the Oscar! She showed off her growing bump in an off-the-shoulder, empire-waisted violet Rodarte gown that has many Swarovski crystal beading around the neckline to show off her mother-to-be full boobs! Pairing with Jimmy Choo heels, a Roger Vivier clutch, and Tiffany & Co. jewelry. We’ve notice she has been wearing almost exclusively Tiffany & Co’s jewelries lately, maybe she is also going to be their spokeswoman on top of also being the face of Dior Cherie perfume Ad Campaign? And what a perfect choice! She looks beautiful!
Reese Witherspoon in Armani Privé
Our favorite “Legally Blonde” is looking fabulous in her ‘60s inspired black & white Giorgio Armani Privé gown, almost like a living Barbie doll! She wore about $1 Million dollars worth of Neil Lane diamond & emerald jewelries. This is the perfect example of “Less is more”!
Hilary Swank in Gucci Première
I love Hiliary Swank’s style, she is not only a super talented actress, whom won 2 Oscars for her role in “Boys don’t cry” and “Million Dollar Baby”, the choice of her dress to the red carpet has never disappointed us! I am just surprised to find out that this is a GUCCI dress! What a pleasant surprise it was! As we know sequin & feathers are a big trend for the season, this beautiful sequined Gucci Première Gown ( a couture line Gucci launched in June 2010) has ombré effect feathered train is fabulous! And she wore it so well with her perfectly tone worked-out arms! One thing I was hoping she would of wear a nice diamond stud earrings would then be perfect! Since she didn’t wore any necklace also no earrings… just make me feel a little “Empty” up there, if you know what I mean.
Mandy Moore in Monique Lhuillier
We’ve not see Mandy Moore on the red carpet for couple years and she wow us with this beautiful nude colored tulle gown by Monique Lhuillier. Paired with Chopard yellow-gold and pavé diamond button earrings and a HUGE 13-carat diamond ring, finished the look with Jimmy Choo heels. She looks fabulous! The tulle matched her skin color perfectly that you don’t even notice the gown is actually a round neck & a elbow length sleeve dress! Just the right amount of sparkles and then fade away towards the neckline and towards bottom of the skirt, she looks like a Goddess!
Scarlett Johansson in Dolce & Gabbana
Scarlett always has the sultry vibes that exudes sensuality by the way she smile, moves…. And this burgundy lace backless gown by Dolce & Gabbana is just made to match her sexy vibes! It’s not the typical “Red” dress that most people wore to the Oscars red carpet, but I think she pulled it off this look perfectly! I just really wish she did her hair differently! It looked a little too casual & messy for the Oscars.
Celine Dion in Armani Privé
Can you guys belive that she just had twin babies and looking this fabulous in this body conscious fitted Giorgio Armani Privé gown? I love this high shine fabric on the dress from Armani’s futuristic looking couture show shown in Paris last month. It’s another “Less is More” kinda gown! a simple elegant dress pair with a big Bulgari diamond & emerald pendant necklace is all you need to rule the red carpet! Also I love the soft curl/wave hair-do she has tonight, fabulous!
PENÉLOPE CRUZ in L’Wren Scott
Ok, another star who just had a baby like couple weeks ago and walking down the carpet looking like this fabulous in a super sparkly red sequined L’Wren Scott gown, with plunging neckline to show off her motherhood boobs! Paried with Chopard jewelries & Jimmy Choo heels. I wish they can share the secret with the rest of us how to keep their figures this fabulous just weeks after having her baby son!
Cate Blanchett in Givenchy Couture
I just LOVE Cate Blanchett! As an actress & her always so “Haute” sense of fashion taste! I’ve never seen her wearing anything bad on the red carpet. This time she wore this beautiful Givenchy Haute Couture gown from their couture collection just shown last month in Paris, a Japanese origami inspired gown in pale purple pleated silk chiffon. Beautiful pale lavender color pearls cascading down in a circlar shape opening front down to the waist with a surprising touch of neon yellow pearls beading to the back neck and straps. This gown screams couture! And Cate wore this gown with her fresh bob hair-do & Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry, looking like a million bucks as she always does! Bravo Cate!
Michelle Williams in Chanel Couture
She is like the Audrey Hepburn of the new & younger generation with her girlish charms and that so cute short bob hair-do! This CHANEL couture gown is just the perfect dress for her! All those intricate white on white beadings on this short sleeve chiffon column shape gown paired with Harry Winston diamond earrings, ring & Jimmy Choo pumps is just so heavenly looking that made her looks so statuesque on the red carpet! It’s so refreshing to see young starlets so classy & elegant and not trying to be overly sexy. A big thumbs up for Michelle William’s style and this CHANEL couture gown.
Jennifer Lawrence in Calvin Klein
This year’s breakout star has chose to go for a minimalism approach for her Oscar red carpet debut in this flame red Calvin Klein collection gown that’s so simply & elegant, all focus is on her! Which this is the best ways to walk down the red carpet! So many starlets trying too hard wanting to be notice on the red carpet & end up letting the gown overshadow them instead of letting the dress features all of your best assets! This dress hugs her body like a glove & draws attention to her beautiful face with smoky eye make-ups & soft curling hair-do. Bellissimo !
Nicole Kidman in Dior Couture
She is Nominated for Best Actress for Rabbit Hole this year and walked down the Oscar red carpet like an Old Hollywood Goddess as usual in a strapless, Kimono inspired white color Dior Haute Couture gown! I love the Kimono detail panel at the waist with all the embellishments on the bodice with thousands of beads & sequin. Love how her loose yet controlled up-do hair style and the 150-carats diamond Fred Leighton choker and bright red Pierre Hardy heels to finished off the look. She pulled off this look so beautifully! And yes, let me repeat again, her diamond necklace is 150-carats!!!
Mila Kunis in Elie Saab Couture
She is one of the star from the move “Black Swan” and walk down the red carpet in this lovely plunging neckline lavender lace Elie Saab Couture gown that has grosgrain ribbon waist and strips of laces sewn on bias on the side of the bodice & skirt lined in nude color tulle to give you that “Peekaboo” illusion of see-though sexiness! I love how a delicate pieces of lace around the plunging neckline, just slightly “Cover-up” her boobs to give you that uber sexy lingerie look to the whole gown. Her loosely chignon hairdo is just perfect to go with the dress!
Jennifer Hudson in Atelier Versace
OMG! Can you believe she lost 80 Lbs since she was on the American Idol? This girl has come a LONG way! And looking more fabulous everyday! (and she can sing, too! Watch out beyonce!) This bright tangerine color Atelier Versace halter gown with dramatic side details & train looks great on her! I love how this tangerine color taffeta gown goes with her skin tone perfectly! And you know a fabulous homegirl needs her bling bling, and a 165 carats of Neil Lane diamonds is what she wore with the dress. You go girl! You look fabulous!
Gwyneth Paltrow in Calvin Klein
She is another starlet that never disappoints us with her red carpet style! She always has this effortless elegance that we all love! She wore this liquid platinum matte sequined minimalistic gown by Calvin Klein Collection, with a sharp geometric shape plunging neckline is just oh so chic I can’t even describe it in words! I love her super straight long blonde center parted hair-do pair with Louis Vuitton precious jewelry earrings, ring & brooch. She just has this “Hamptons, upper-east side girl” chic that no one can do it better than she does.
Amy Adams in L’Wren Scott
She is nominated as the Best Supporting Actress this year & she wore this super sparkly L'Wren Scott cap-sleeved gown and $1,350,000 dollars of Cartier diamond jewelry, including a bracelet & necklace, each containing more than 30 carats of emeralds. Love her long flowing soft-wave red hair do and the big red lipstick makes her look picture perfect on the red carpet.
Sandra Bullock in Vera Wang
She won last year’s Best Actress Oscar and thank her super hot but a total looser ex-boyfriend Jesse James (He cheated on her over a tattooed on the face & all over body slut! Why?) She showed up this year in full vengeance! The flame red “Look at me now” Vera Wang dress with sweetheart neckline & diamond shape panel construction on the hip area, the dressmakes her look sooo good, that will sure make Jesse James kicking himself why he cheated on this super talented & beautiful actress Sandra Bullock over a ugly tattooed slut! She finished off the look with Harry Winston earrings and bangle looking totally like a Old Hollywood movie star! (Sandra, we LOVE you! Don’t let that cheater Jesse James brings you down!)
Of course we have to save the best for last! The very first & ever African-American actress won the Oscar best actress award Halle Berry can do no wrong on the red carpet! She has always picked the perfect dress like this Marchesa nude color tulle gown, pave with thousands of crystals & sequins with ever so delicate spirals of tulle rosset at the bottom front of the gown then extend to the back as a long dramatic train. The nude color tulle lined lace bodice gives you that “Peekaboo” lingerie sexiness and matched her skin tone perfectly! Bravo Halle, you’ve done it again being on our best dressed list of Oscar 2011 red carpet award!
Don’t you just love the Oscars red carpet & seeing all the beautiful actresses wearing those exquisite couture gowns? We hope you enjoyed our Oscar 2011 red carpet report!
Until next time, be well and look fabulous!
